If you’re still lamenting the end of the Great British Bake-Off on TV screens then here’s some therapy that might just help.
Two yoga and foodie fans have combined to bring you Stretch + Knead, a dynamic yoga practice coupled with an artisan bread-baking course.
Enjoy inspirational day classes, luxe gourmet weekends or even week-long retreats at some amazing venues in the UK and abroad.
The idea is the brainchild of yoga teacher Tracy Johnson of Brainbox Coaching (brainboxcoaching.co.uk) and cook Elisabeth Mahoney of The One Mile Bakery (onemilebakery.com).
“If you’re suffering from the post Bake-Off blues, we have a remedy,” says Johnson, who also runs Empower Yoga.
“Stretch+Knead not only offers expert tuition in making healthy breads and sweet treats but also the chance to stretch your cares away with some revitalising yoga.”
She says it’s the perfect combination of many people’s favourite stress relievers, uniting the restorative and enriching power of both yoga and baking.
“Stretch + Knead is all about the luxury of taking time out of our crazily busy schedules for expert tuition in two fields which are wonderfully complementary,” says Mahoney. “Whether you’re stretching into a yoga pose, or kneading bread dough, the cares of the day just melt away and you can’t help but focus on the moment.”
After running their first day classes in the UK, the Stretch + Knead team are now looking forward to their first longer courses.
The first weekend retreats are scheduled for January 30 and May 8, 2015 at a seventeenth- century country estate near Abergavenny
in Monmouthshire, nestling in three acres of beautiful Welsh countryside.
The first week-long retreat starts May 16, 2015 on a 75-acr e organic farm in Andalusia, southern Spain.
